This year has been especially tough for cats and kittens! We have been overwhelmed this year with kittens being dumped here. We actually had 6-week old kittens that have reached an age where they are old enough to be spayed or neutered and are still here with us. Very few people have been here to adopt the cats we have.

This year has brought in record numbers of pets whose owners were forced to bring their pets because of foreclosures. Also, kind neighbors brought in some animals, which were simply left behind at properties. This has been a very sad situation for all involved and hopefully will end in the very near future.

On a more positive note, the voucher program has been very successful this year and we were able to offer many $20 and $30 spay/neuter vouchers to people in the community. The program has been going on since January of 2008 and will be coming to an end on Saturday, September 13th. We will be reapplying for more grant money in November to hopefully begin our voucher program again in January of 2009.

Thanks for visiting our website and remember to spay and neuter those pets—it saves many lives!!
